The "Preparation of Local Area Plans for the Transit Oriented Development Zones of the proposed metro routes in Bhopal and Indore" is a consultancy project undertaken by the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Bhopal, in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (MPMRCL). The project focuses on developing comprehensive local area plans (LAPs) that align with the upcoming metro rail networks in Bhopal and Indore. By emphasizing transit-oriented development (TOD), the project aims to foster sustainable urban growth, enhance connectivity, and optimize land use around metro stations, contributing to the transformation of these cities into modern, liveable urban centres.

AR Based Phygital Expedition: Ports and Maritime Industrial Heritage of India

The project envisages documenting and curating the historical evolution of a specific sector as

industrial heritage, i.e., ports. It includes studying the impact of ports on the development of

cities, as well as the social and cultural impacts on the people who came under the direct or

indirect influence of the ports. The next phase of the project involves preserving this

documentation in digital format for future generations and presenting an AR-based phygital

expedition (physical + digital) as industrial heritage.

New Delhi Core Area Mobility Plan

The project focused on developing a comprehensive understanding of the process involved in formulating mobility-related projects. The study area is located in New Delhi’s Zone-D within NDMC, and functions as the heart of India. The Central Vista Redevelopment Project will introduce a Common Central Secretariat, a secure Executive Enclave, and a new Parliament Building, which is expected to increase footfall. Thus, considering the upcoming footfall and the already traversing traffic necessitated a comprehensive assessment of demand across various sectors, including active mobility, traffic management, parking, right-of-way management, freight demand, road safety, and event-based circulation strategies.
